This Cookie Policy explains how Ezergrade ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar storage technologies on the Ezergrade platform, accessible at https://ezergrade.com (the "Service"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into it by reference and governs how we handle any personal data involved.
Ezergrade is built to be used with minimal, essential-only cookies. We do not run advertising, do not use analytics trackers or third-party tracking pixels, and do not build advertising profiles from your activity on the Service.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. We also use two related browser storage technologies for the same essential purposes:
We treat all of these the same way in this policy and refer to them together as "cookies."
Every cookie the Service sets falls into one category: strictly necessary. None of them are optional, and none require consent under applicable law, because the Service cannot function without them — for example, a teacher could not stay logged in, and a student's test session could not stay open, without them.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Keeps a teacher signed in between page loads and identifies the logged-in account to our database (Supabase authentication). | Essential | Session / until sign-out |
| Session identifiers | Maintain an active live, self-paced, homework, or paper test session so answers and progress stay attached to the right student and session. | Essential | Duration of the test session |
| Integrity-warning state | Remembers, on the student's own device only, that a fullscreen-exit or focus-loss warning has already been shown during a supervised test, so refreshing the page cannot be used to dismiss it silently. | Essential (local storage) | Duration of the test session |
If this ever changes — for example, if we later add privacy-conscious product analytics to understand how teachers use the Service — we will update this policy first and, where required by law, request consent before any non-essential cookie is set.
Some features of the Service rely on third-party providers that may set their own cookies when you interact with those specific features directly (for example, our payment processor's checkout page, or Google when you connect Google Classroom). Those providers' own cookie and privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one. We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics scripts on the Service itself.
Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary, disabling them will prevent core features of the Service from working — for example, you will not be able to stay signed in, or a student's test session may not stay connected. You can still control or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Instructions vary by browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) and are available from each browser's help documentation.
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service changes. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do, and where a change is material we will provide reasonable notice consistent with how we handle updates to our Terms of Service.
